Quick Look: Your Photos Screensaver allows you to display your own photos as a screensaver on your TV when your USB-enabled Roku is idle. Yes, USB Screensaver is free, but two bucks will give you the added ability to display your photos full-screen, to vary the time each photo is displayed, and to set the types of transitions between photos.
As indicated, to use this screensaver you will need a Roku device with a USB port. Photos will need to be loaded into folder named "pictures" in your thumb drive's root directory in order to be recognized by the screensaver. One limitation that isn't documented is that there is apparently a size limit on each photo. I loaded two dozen photos onto a thumb drive in their original 4 MB JPEG format as transferred from my camera. Two different Roku devices recognized that I had 24 photos in the "pictures" folder, but the screensaver displayed only a blank screen. After downsizing all photos to 50% of their original size, the screensaver worked properly and displayed full-screen images.
Despite the size limitation, this screensaver is well worth the $1.99 purchase price if you're looking for an easy way to display your own photos as a screensaver on your Roku-connected TV... assuming you have a Roku with a USB port. The ability to display full-screen photos puts it well above the free USB Screensaver app.
