Quick Look: Sling TV, a DISH subsidiary, is an alternative to traditional pay cable or satellite television services. Sling TV provides live feeds to many of the most popular cable network channels, and on-demand access to many popular cable programs. The service is available on many different devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android, iOS, Mac, and PC. A full list of supported devices can be found here.
Sling offers two domestic services:
- Sling Orange includes 32 channels and is promoted as being the best choice for NCAA football and families as it includes ESPN and Disney channels. Stream on one device at a time.
- Sling Blue includes 43 channels and is promoted as being the best choice for NFL football and news as it includes Fox Sports, local Fox affiliates in select markets, and CNN and Fox News. Stream on three devices simultaneously.
Each service is only $10 for the first month and then $35 per month, with no contact so you can cancel any time. You can get both Orange & Blue for only $20 for the first month and then $50 per month. All plans include 50 hours of cloud DVR storage.

After subscribing to an Orange, Blue, or Orange & Blue package, you can subscribe to a number of add-on packages like Sports Extra ($11/month for 12 additional channels, including MLB Network, NHL Network, and Golf Channel) and Lifestyle Extra ($6/month for 10 additional channels, including VH-1, Oxygen, and three Hallmark channels). Also available are several international add-ons such as Best of Spanish TV, Chinese Mini, Français Mini, and Arabic Mini, as well as premium services such as Showtime, Starz, EPIX, and many more.
Sling TV also offers movie rentals in a number of genres. Prices vary by film, but current pricing examples include Avengers: Infinity War for $3.99, while new releases such as Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain rents for $19.99.
