Unscramble Challenge by HappyKids provides players with a scrambled word and three choices for what the word is. For example, "eohm" has the possible answers mheo, home, and meoh. That one was obvious, but many of the scrambled words are more obscure, even in the Beginner level. For example, the scrambled letters "motel" had a correct answer of "lotem." Depending on which source you use, this is a village in northern Israel[dictionary.net] or a girl who obsesses over semi-famous Broadway stars [Urban Dictionary]. It's unlikely a young child will get that one, but we encountered other examples where the "scrambled" version was a real word and the correct answer was something obscure.
Another issue with the game is that there may be multiple correct answers, but only one of those will get you a win. "lstea" and possible answers that included "slate" and "least" but we were marked wrong when selecting "slate," which is more likely to be known to children than Lotem. And if you kid correctly picks psilocin on the Expert level, you may want to ask questions about where your kids are getting their knowledge. (Psilocin is a hallucinogens found in most psychedelic mushrooms.)
If your children decide to play this game, they will find three levels - Beginner, Advanced, and Expert. There is time limit for each round (25 seconds for Beginner, up to 45 seconds for Expert), but you can cheat by stopping the countdown with the remote's [Pause] button. Points are awarded for correct anwsers. The menu bar at the top of the screen includes a Hint, Music, and Sound, but we never figured out a way to access this menu.
