Search and stream free iTunes Podcasts

Add Channel - ITPC

RokuGuide Channel Description: The iTunes Podcasts private/non-certified Roku channel provides access to free podcasts in the iTunes library. You don't need iTunes installed on your computer to use this channel, as it pulls podcasts directly from the iTunes library. And you don't even need an iTunes account.

The channel no longer provides any podcast listings as it once did, so you'll have to use the search function to enter the name or topic of the podcast you're looking for. The search function will offer search suggestions within the results area, but if you enter a topic and press the OK button on your remote you'll be presented with a menu screen with all of the podcasts available on that topic. For example, a search on "cars" currently provides 43 podcasts from which to choose, including NRP's Car Talk, Talking Cars from Consumer Reports, and The Car and Driver Podcast.

If there are certain podcasts that you regularly stream through your Roku, you can add them to a "favorites" list so that you don't have to repeat the search every time you use the channe.. When you select a podcast, you have the options to play it or add it to your favorites (or remove it if it's alread on your favorites list). Your favorites and recently streamed podcasts are accessible from the channel's home screen.

Note that only free podcasts are available through this channel. Paid and other content, such as movies, music, and TV shows, still require you to use the iTunes app on your computer or mobile device.
