AARP Streams is a free app available to anyone with a free AARP account or paid membership. The AARP Streams Roku app doesn't offer any on-demand content, but streams movies and theater productions that can be viewed only while they are being streamed live. The following content is currently available:
- AARP Movies for Grownups - Nine titles are currently listed, and can only be streamed live. The movies don't air at regular intervals, with three days to nearly two weeks between them. Currently, "Driving Madeleine" is scheduled for July 11, 2024; "Next Goal Wins" is eight days later on July 19; "In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon" is three days later on July 22; "Last Vegas" streams on August 6, and then there's a long gap until "Mad Props" on August 21.
- AARP Theater - Four AARP Theater Productions are currently scheduled from July through September, 2024: "2Cellos - Live at the Sydney Opera House," "Tango under the Stars at The Hollywood Bowl," "Mozart's Don Giovanni from the Salzburg Festival (Opera)," and "The Royal Ballet: The Winter's Tale."
You will need to click on each movie or theater production title to view the live stream times, and then click on "register" in order to unlock it.
The AARP Streams app doesn't let you preview any content. To view content, you will need to create a free AARP account if you don't already have (or join if you aren't a member). Launch the app and then visit aarp.org/streams-app and enter the code shown on your Roku's TV screen. The app will then refresh to let you view available content.
